O3 ozone.

Origin

Ozone present in our biosphere results from chemical reactions between unburnt hydrocarbons and certain residues of their incomplete combustion, oxides of nitrogen and oxygen, under the effect of the solar radiation.

All the motor vehicles " thermal " (gasoline, diesels, gas) of it are directly responsible. The formation of these pollutants under the influence of the sunning is called photochemical pollution. The fixing of these pollutants on the water droplets of the fogs involves the formation of the " smog ", frightening mixture able to accumulate and stagnate lengthily in the low layer of the air of the great agglomerations. The points are increasingly frequent and the consequences on health increasingly serious.

Effects on the body:
This principal agent of photo-oxidizing pollution is a gas strongly oxidant, aggressive, cytotoxic, which penetrates the respiratory tracts finest, up to the alveolar level. It quickly causes cough and a pulmonary deterioration in particular at the children and the asthmatic ones, as well as ocular or cutaneous irritations. These deteriorations can go up to cellular necroses and its consequences. The effects are raised by the physical exercises (increased respiratory exchanges).

Pathologies:
For this pollutant, the basic level (absence of pathological action measurable or identified) is 3 µg/m3 ("2,5 ppB). Variations (average per day) are accompanied by strong significant increases:
